We are currently looking for a Project Development Engineer to join our team at Groupe Qualipièces.

Are you looking to put your technical expertise to work by developing innovative solutions for snowmobile and motorcycle riders? Would you like to contribute to creating products that address the real needs of passionate riders?

We are looking for a hands-on person who enjoys turning ideas into concrete solutions and seeing projects come to life. If you are known for your attention to detail, autonomy, and ability to take development projects from concept to completion, we want to meet you!

For over 25 years, we have been designing, distributing, and marketing accessories that meet the needs of passionate riders. With Qualipièces, B-PWR, and MotoMotto, we continue to innovate by developing functional, durable products designed for real-world use.

Reporting to management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Participate in defining the needs and objectives of various development projects;
  • Define technical requirements, quality criteria, and validation plans required for project completion;
  • Develop, analyze, and present concepts throughout the development process;
  • Oversee detailed design, technical drawings, and product validation according to established requirements;
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners involved in projects;
  • Ensure effective project management based on timelines, resources, budgets, and technical risks;
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure successful completion of development projects.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering;
  • Experience in manufacturing and product development environments;
  • Hands-on approach, with a strong interest in prototyping, testing, and solving real-world problems;
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently with strong organization and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
  • Strong initiative and ability to propose innovative solutions;
  • Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written).

Reporting to the Engineering team, the successful candidate will participate in every stage of our product development process. You will play a key role in product development projects—from concept generation and design to validation and production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in needs analysis and requirements gathering.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and technical direction.
  • Assist with concept modeling and development.
  • Participate in technical feasibility studies.
  • Help build prototypes and mock-ups.
  • Assist in developing testing protocols.
  • Set up testing equipment and conduct laboratory and field tests.
  • Contribute to preparing product specifications and design requirements.
  • Create detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
  • Produce technical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Participate in manufacturing implementation and quality system activities.

The successful candidate will also become the team's subject matter expert for 3D printing, 3D scanning, and SolidWorks.

Desired Profile

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and with small or medium-sized businesses (SMEs) is an asset.
  • Technical English proficiency required.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, particularly surface modeling, is an asset.
  • Strong interest in mechanical design, mechanics, and hands-on work.

Work Environment

This position is primarily on-site at our manufacturing facility in Valcourt, Quebec.
