Frequently asked questions

Rollerski Auto-Retractable Wheels

When a RollerSki is installed on a ski, the ski rubber tends to be too soft. So on some RollerSki models, we provide a shim that must be installed under the rubber, making it more rigid and thus keeping the ski leveled. We have several shapes and patterns of shims that go under the ski rubbers, but all have the same use. They are simply made to fit with the shape of the ski area on which they must be installed.

Our runners and Rollerskis are designed to fit with OEM skis only. Those products aren’t compatible with aftermarket skis.

The Rollerski is designed for trail users. In some cases, when driving at high speed or on bumpy trails, there may be risks the Rollerski engages without the assistance of the snowmobiler. *** It is important to note that the product itself is not hazardous, it is its use in conditions outside of what it was designed for that can make the situation hazardous.*** Since a portion of the RollerSki, even when disengaged, is not protected by the ski, we do not suggest installing it on your snowmobile if you plan to use it off-trail of all kinds (Mountain, wood lot, ungroomed trails, etc).

The Rollerski is designed to be installed directly on the ski.  It’s not possible to install a Rollerski when a ski boot/skin is installed. The width of the ski becomes too important for the proper functioning of the RollerSki system.  It’s for this particular reason that we don’t design rollerskis for very large skis.

It depends on the model you have. If you have the model with the coil spring (with the black plastic cover about 5’’ long), we suggest doing an occasional visual inspection (see section 5 of the Rollerski user manual). If you have the flat spring model, refer to section 5 of the user manual for more details about the maintenance to do on your Rollerski.

Our Rollerskis are designed to fit on a specific ski model. For this reason, it’s not always possible to use the same Rollerski model from one snowmobile to another. For more information regarding the fitment of your Rollerski on your new snowmobile, feel free to contact our customer service team. They will be happy to provide you with assistance.

Some replacement parts are sold on our website, but all replacement parts are available at your local Qualipieces dealer.

Our RollerSki are designed from characteristics specific to each original model of the main manufacturers such as Ski-Doo, Polaris, Yamaha and Arctic Cat for the model years 2000 to now. A snowmobile that has undergone modifications to the front suspension or to the original skis cannot fit RollerSki. It is therefore important to check which is the right model of RollerSki to fit your snowmobile by using our search tool on the Qualipieces website, by contacting your dealer or through our customer service. Using a RollerSki that is not suitable for your snowmobile can be dangerous and / or cause breakage.

It’s really easy to engage the RollerSki, its concept require very little force to engage. Just apply light pressure down and then to the back of the vehicle and it will engage.

You need to get off the vehicle to engage it, but it requires very little force and activates very easily.

To disengage it, only the contact with the snow is needed. It’s gonna disengage by itself.

Watch this video which demonstrates how to engage the RollerSki and the automatic disengagement.

Carbide Runners

We have 2 products available, the Traveler and the Rush. The Traveler is a smooth that provides decent control but is very comfortable on the trail. We compare it to the original smooth, but being more durable. The Rush is an aggressive runner that allows for greater control in turns and more aggression than the Traveler. Depending on your type of driving (touring, technical or aggressive), a smooth combination of one or two of these products can allow you to achieve the behavior you are looking for.

Yes, all our runners are sold in pairs

You can refer to our online guide to determine the right product for your type of driving and your playing field. If you are not sure of your choice, you can always contact our customer service who will answer your questions.

You must use the bolts supplied with the Top Gold carbides, otherwise you risk damaging or breaking them. They are adapted for the carbides and they will avoid creating a point of weakness on the threaded rod.

If there were no bolts included with your set, be sure to use bolts that are the same size and with the same thread as the threaded rod. Also, you can buy them at your local dealer or on our website.

Ice Scratcher - Trail Blizzer

The Trail Blizzer can be installed anywhere on the rail of your snowmobile, but we suggest you to place it as close to the front of the vehicle as possible to increase efficiency.

It’s important to verify that the space between the suspension and the Trail Blizzer is sufficient, otherwise, you risk damaging or even losing it.

Also, you need to retract it when you cross a railroad crossing, sidewalk or when you get on or off your snowmobile from the trailer, otherwise, you could damage or lose the Trail Blizzer.

On the A-arm: With the help of the collar, you will be able to fix the part of the cable on the front suspension and then direct it correctly so that it touches the ground. Refer to the installation guide for more details. We recommend that you use the straps to easily retract your TrailBlizzer.

On the rail: Find the optimal location (as far forward as possible) to install your TrailBlizzer. Make sure that the rear suspension of the vehicle will not come in contact with your installation. If you don’t have holes where you want to install it, you will have to drill it yourself. Refer to the installation guide for more details. We recommend that you use the straps to easily retract your TrailBlizzer.
