Carbide Runner Anatomy
Different terms in the snowmobile industry are used to refed to carbide runners : skegs, rods, runners, carbides, wear bars.
Let's break it down to 3 elements: wear bar, carbide and stud.
The runner is made of 3 elements:
1- Wear bar
Wear bar provides grip on snowy surfaces.
2- Carbide
Carbide provides grip on hardened and/or icy surfaces.
3- Stud
Stud allows the installation of the carbide runner on the ski.
